The T.R.E.E.S Hosting Center is a fully-furnished hosting and education center. We have a total of 7 cabins that can accommodate up to 30 guests. In addition, we have a few tent platforms that can host those guest that want more of the outdoor adventure or for interns when the cabins our booked by groups. Including tenting, the maximum capacity of the hosting center is about 40 guests. Telephone and Internet Services The center is well-equipped to allow you to communicate with the outside world; we have a phone in the lounge area that can be used by guests for $0.50 BZD/minute and depending on your service provider your cell phone may work in Belize and at the center. We do have WIFI and all wireless devices work on this system. There is a small fee for WIFI ($5.00 BZD/day for unlimited connection) and you must remember that we are in the jungle in Belize and thus you cannot expect the same speed of internet as you do at home. Yet, it is sufficient to make Skype calls, do Facebook and Twitter updates, and check your email. Because we pay by GB of use, we ask that people please do not use this system for downloading or uploading big files (i.e., movies).
Business Services The T.R.E.E.S Hosting Center also has a full office which has printing, scanning, and photocopying capabilities which are available for a small fee. We also have a courtesy guest computer for guests that have not brought their computers and need to do some web searches.
Entertainment Finally, there is a screen and projector for presentations and for teachers and guests that wish to watch movies and documentaries. We have a variety of movies and nature documentaries in our digital library. We also have a variety of board games, cards, soccer balls, a volleyball net, badminton net, etc., for those who wish to play some games in the off-times. We also have a couple of mask/snorkel kits and inner tubes that can be used by guests to play in the river.
Library Services We have a variety of nature guides, biology and science books, as well as Belize natural history books at T.R.E.E.S that may be borrowed by guests while at the station. We also have a small library where you can leave your used books that then become part of the Community Library and read by Belizeans. Guests are free to borrow books from this library as well while they are at T.R.E.E.S.
